IMPROV RESIDENT TEAM NIGHT!
Check out our current lineup of Resident Improv Teams! These teams perform Long-Form Improv all inspired by a suggestion from the audience. Think of it as a sitcom made up on the spot.
Catch them before they are gone! These teams rotate every three months!
Space Heater was formed in Cody Saunders’ backyard sometime in 2021, along with our partner group, Backyard. The group performs a Town style long form with an opener introducing the characters followed by a variety of styles of scenes between those characters throughout a connected set of locations
When we perform with our partner team, Backyard, we do “A Tale of Two Towns”, where the first group asks for the suggestion and performs a full set and then this group portrays the Town format but without an additional suggestion, reflecting themes they saw in the first performance. However, each group also operates as an independent whole, so this connection is definitely not a requirement.
This group has performed at The Glendale Room and fanaticSalon. We have worked with a few different directors for our group, which has included: Al Garcia, Jason Shotts, Roberto Lewis, Ruby Willman, and Zach Huddleston. All our actors have a background with Westside Comedy Theater.
TV Reunion Show with Cobranuats and Friends
We all got giddy when the cast of “Friends” returned to Central Perk; grabbed a tissue when Will and the gang hung out again in Bel Air; and marveled as Harry, Hermione and Ron sat in the halls of Hogwarts twenty years later (except for Buckbeak — where the hell was Buckbeak?). Now, get ready as Cobranauts and friends get the gang back together for an improvised reunion of a classic fictitious show based on your suggestions. Whether it’s a medical drama from the 80s, a wholesome 50s family sitcom or a 90s CW teen melodrama, you’ll be champing at the bit to celebrate a show that never existed.
