Did you ever want to write your own audition monologue? Have an idea for a character you want to expand on? Create solo content to perform online from home? Or maybe even write and perform a full one-person show someday?

Paul Stein, Executive Producer of the Comedy Central Stage, will share the secrets of what works, what doesn’t, and the “three things” you should always do when putting together a performance monologue, building characters and creating your own solo show.

This weekly online workshop will offer: writing exercises, assignments, examples, discussion, in-session performance, Q & A, and much more.

Instructor Bio: PAUL STEIN is the Executive Producer at the Comedy Central Stage, a development performance venue for the television network in Hollywood. Paul directed W. Kamau Bell’s solo show “Ending Racism in About An Hour” at various theaters across the country; and Leonard Nimoy’s one-person play “Vincent” starring Jean-Michel Richaud with premiere productions in Los Angeles, New York City and Paris, France. In his 20-plus years of professional experience, Paul was a Venue Producer for over ten years at HBO’s U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen and Venue Supervisor at all five TCF: Comedy Festivals in Las Vegas produced by HBO, TBS & AEG Live! As a theatre director, he has had numerous productions appear in Theaters, Festivals and Fringes across the United States, Europe, and Canada.
