Kaboombox
Kaboombox brings their unique high-energy hip-hop musical improv form to audiences all over Los Angeles. With a one word suggestion from the audience, they create a fully improvised improv set filled with songs and raps created on the spot!
Kaboombox has been performing musical and rap improv together for over four years. They have hosted musical improv shows at the former Nerdist theater and UCB’s Inner Sanctum over the last three years. The improvisers on this team have been trained at UCB and Groundlings.
Big Kids
Formed in December of 2018, Big Kids play biweekly at Westside Comedy theater on Monday nights, and sporadically at other LA comedy venues. Coached by veteran Westside player Al Garcia, the team’s philosophy is based in following the fun.
Typically shows open with a storybook-style reading of a children’s book that doesn’t exist, and build out a world and characters drawing from its themes. Big Kids focus on a mixed style of play that switches between fast-paced, frantic play and patient, compelling scenework that keeps audiences engrossed and on their toes.
