Ryan Cohen
Ryan is a writer and improviser originally from the Bay Area. He wrote his first big story in the 5th grade, which was very derivative of Star Wars, Episode I (a movie that Ryan admittedly loved as a child but openly loathes as an adult).
He went on to get a really useful degree in Creative Writing from UC San Diego. One of his favorite memories from that time is when his Pulitzer Prize-winning poetry professor asked him to tutor her lower division students; she then rescinded the offer after he turned in a serialized poem entirely about toilet seats. “Your poetry is too funny” felt like an insult, but he chose to take it as a compliment.
After that ringing endorsement, Ryan decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a starving artist. Most of the time, he’s still pretty hungry.
Ryan can currently be seen performing at The Westside Comedy Theater with Air Force Fun, and once a month at The Pack Theater with cult-favorite sketch team Nightchurch.
