Family Reunion

In 2017, all of our members met at a practice group that would eventually become a musical improv team named “Family Fugue”. Over the years, the team performed around LA and changed, dissolved, spun off into separate teams, etc, but the core remained strong and reunited in 2022 to form a “Family Reunion”. 

All of our members are UCB-trained and have been performing improv (musical and non-musical) for over 5 years. Our play style is magical, inviting, playful, and full of heart — I mean hey, we’re a family, and a found family of friends at that, so there’s no drama at the reunion 🙂

HeyDay

We met at the iOWest Theater when we were formed as a house team in 2014 and we’ve been performing regularly ever since, for 300+ shows. We won the Del Close Award for Best House Team for 3 years and have performed at festivals in Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco, and Cincinnati. In addition to iOWest, we’ve also been regular performers at Second City Hollywood, Sacred Fools Theater, and Westside Comedy Theater.

We perform our original form, the Vertical Harold, developed in collaboration with our longtime coach Karen Graci. It features high energy character digressions, committed scene work, and a pretty great shared monologue opening.

We love each other, we love performing, and we love the Westside!

B-Role

B-Role creates a fast-paced improv show where they follow the fun. B-Role makes use of the environment while maintaining multiple characters in a scene. Their “show not tell” style of improv keeps the audience engaged and laughing. Patrick and Bileko MET performing together with Blackstreet Boyz and had instant chemistry on stage. They have performed at Westside Comedy Theater as well as The Pasadena Comedy. Patrick is a writer/performer from Chicago who currently writes for The Amber Ruffin Show and Bileko performs stand-up all around the city and also performs with Bernie Mac and Cheese.
