Satire Sketch Writing or How I Learned to Love What I Hate
Dates: May 2nd & 9th
Saturdays 2-5pm

Everything is horrible right now. We’re all trapped in doors. Politics are toxic. The environment is burning. People suck… Which makes this the perfect time to write some SATIRE! You’ll be using the tried and true method of examining all that irks you, pissed you off and makes you scream and expose it through… wait for it… love. We’ll spend the first class learning about satire and how to write it. The second class we will bring in actors to read your drafts and then work on rewrites. Join is for one long bitch session that’ll result in a piece of finely crafted comedy!

Instructor Bio: Timmy has directed just under 100 shows for the Westside Comedy Theater with the teams Dullboy Jack, Back Alley Racket Club and Queerish. He has performed and written comedy all over the country, including with his brother in the critically acclaimed sketch team We Have An Uncle Dick. He also performs with the house improv team Cobranauts and Mission Improvable. You can see some of Timmy’s writing this fall on the Amazon children’s animated show Jessy and Nessy. Aside from teaching improv and sketch comedy at Westside, he is a professor of improv, sketch and acting for the camera at The College of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Hollywood. He has an MFA in comedy writing and directing from Columbia College Chicago. You can see some of his work at TimmyTamisiea.com
